Obviously we aren't going to sanction them or refuse any and all business with them however, their pull has dimished with the global glut and oil shale in general. OPEC's power is currently waning as China slows and the US produces its own oil for consumption. IMO, a normalization of relations with Iran is a large negative for Saudi Arabia which may as well amount to "dropping them." It's a clear indication their power is waning in the region or at least losing its dominance.

do you think we're really gonna do anything to greatly antagonize the ruling family of the largest sunni force in the region? nah. we like our buildings without planes in them. we've played both sides of the fence before in the region (egypt vs israel, israel vs turkey, iraq vs iran) and we'll continue to do it
