This is frikken bizarre, outside dark money coming in to influence a primary election for our local state house district representing about 9,000 people, WTF. I know both candidates, both are decent people. The challenger who is the benefactor of the adds (probably gonna backfire cause people are pissed) wrote in the local weekly paper that she doesn't know who these people are and why they are doing this, she's also decried the adds as being unfair to her opponent... I believe her.

Anywho anyone heard of the Conservative Majority PAC and who might be funding them, very right wing from what I can tell. Here's their MT filing a little over a week before sending out 3 full color mailings to every voter in our county. https://app.mt.gov/cgi-bin/bes/besCerti ... 38346f3900

And oh, sadly the republican primary is the real election in my county, lol. I do not think we've elected a democrat to anything during the entire history of our county.

Yeah that sucks. We had a guy get thrashed in the last mayoral election because he spent $6000 on a professional campaign adviser, who did all sorts of underhanded shit (my mother in law was the main target).

It is really kind of f**k up.

We have a lot of problems in this country. BUT, over the next 20 years or so IMO money in politics will be the #1 problem. It will kill what Democracy we have left.

I don't know if it is true or not, nowadays there's so much shitty info out there it's impossible to always know what's true and what's BS.. But I've read that USSC Judges Kennedy and Thomas have been seen at functions and fundraisers given by political donors.. So not only has money corrupted all levels of politics, but even in the USSC.. I doubt it's against the law, but ethically one would think that's a HUGE no-no..

If true, and even the USSC is bought off, then it is all over here.. We might as well burn it down and start again. Remember these guys aren't elected and have life-time jobs. They can't be 'voted out'...

Why are you complaining? Sounds like someone is dumping money into your local economy. It won't have any impact on the election unless the 9000 voters are dumb enough to be swayed by them.

This is dumb money as evidenced by its public nature. You won't ever sway local elections like that. You should be more concerned about underhanded deals and kickbacks within the party. That's how unfit and unqualified people get "elected."
