No, its disingenuous to include suicides...since of course suicide is by the far the most common cause of gun-related death. So that's proper, at least. Suicides are 2/3 of all deaths via firearms iirc...creates a ridiculously inaccurate death toll as opposed to gun violence to include those numbers. Which is of course why most of the time they like to include suicides. Makes it look 3 times worse.
I'm assuming the weird time frame is just a matter of lack of decent data from international sources. The whole graphic is just kinda useless.

Suicides would probably drop if there weren't any guns. I don't get why they don't count...

there are over 3 times as many OD deaths per year than there are gun suicides in this country
they would certainly decrease Kane -- and in states requiring background checks they are something like half of those in states that don't -- but since they aren't physically hurting anyone else it is wrong to lump it in with gun violence. also with long guns they often blow the front end of their face off and live, because of how they are holding the weapon. it's mainly facilitated by handguns, same as murders. it's almost all facilitated by handguns
