Samsung Galaxy View:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0167O ... ge_o00_s00I ordered one. 18.4" screen size, decent battery life (8 hours with full video) and packable around the house. Plan on reading the e-newspaper (talked the Mrs to finally give up the paper newspaper) and watching streaming video in rooms other than the family room. It's a bit pricey and the specs aren't spectacular... but it ought to work well for an untethered, decent screen sized tablet for around the house.

Even holding up my less than 16oz ipad gave me all kinds of finger and wrist pain over time. That...would have to be a tabletop or laying in bed device.

Something that big is better served by Android anyways. Its able to multitask a lot better than iOS.

My ipad runs the current iOS, and file management is nonexistant in any meaningful sense. And their split view works only in particular apps.
They need a tablet version of OSX. Mobile OS's need to just go the hell away. Unify everything.
I'm not an artist, and I think if your touchscreen otherwise needs a stylus, you're doing it wrong and you might as well be using a mouse...which is better than everything. So I'm not one to comment on the "pencil" beyond the reviews I've read. It does sound like they've almost caught up with Wacom and ntrig on their first attempt, though, which is impressive. Though, with the resources they can bring to bear, anything less than near parity would be embarrassing.
