We obviously need to be considerate about how we make any policy change but in terms of drugs it's a very different outlook. At the very least we need to treat hard drug addiction like a medical issue and not a criminal one, but obviously the common denominator is not the same with drugs because in prostitution the product is a human being who may not be voluntarily participating and with the drugs the product is an inanimate object. I'm not sure I follow your point about Mexican cartels. They're already rich and powerful, and even if you're right that legalization in America would increase demand for their product, they'd just go from filthy rich to more filthy rich. I don't really see how that changes things much for Americans.

To be fair, if Big Pharma starts making drugs and cartels go after them, the cartels would be destroyed within five years. I pity the fool that gets in the way of Big Pharma.

Yeah cartels can hire Juan from the block and give him an ak. Big pharma can hire blackwater.
