Well, its x86. So in the case of your windows tablet, ya, could be a big plus. Isn't useful for the android and iOS stuff though. That's all running with phone processors still. Qualcomm or Apple stuff.

the haswell chip seems to have increased energy efficency but when looking at it here

reviews are that it's a marginal increase. so should i wait until the 6 core haswell are out or go with the older one

Meh. I don't think it matters much in any sort of performance application, like in a desktop. Its just to drag out batteries on ultrabooks and the like, where the HD5000 graphics get some use. In a desktop I'd have discreet graphics and a wild power supply anyways.
