I'm with piers Morgan, people under 21 should not be able to buy a gun. No reason a 19 year old can buy a firearm but not a beer.

Yeah I haven't been able to find much reliable. One source I saw said 100K to 200K was reasonable. I'd be curious how many prevented violent offenses versus how many prevented properly offenses.

Would also be curious how many were instances if "self defense" like that idiot cop in Canada who reached for his gun when some Canucks asked about a tour or something. Chances are there's a lot of rednecks who pull guns in arbitrary situations, see people GTFO and think they prevented a crime or something.

Out of sheer curiosity, how many gun owners here would support legislation that:

Repealed the Second Amendment, allowing states to set their own laws;

Required all police to substantially disarm their forces, and provide justification for any new arm purchases to a civilian committee;

Altered various Constitutional amendments to strengthen privacy, property and personal rights, forbidding tactics like no-knock warrants except in the most extreme situations;

Provided funding for new rehabilitative correctional facilities, while abolishing mandatory minimums, and increased funding for mental health care.

Would these concrete advances in freedom persuade you to support abolishing gun rights in favour of state-based gun privileges?

I have never known a responsible gun owner. And I have known a lot of gun owners.

In my experience cavalier is the status quo and responsible ownership is the rare exception.
