The military does more fighting for the corporation then the nation. However, today's America is a copornation, so the line gets a bit blurry.

I think that many of you are forgetting what a "corporation" and a "nation" are. Both are nothing more than a collection of people. When the "nation" contracts with a "corporation" to buy a military ship, airplane, etc., it is basically every taxpayer agreeing to give a paycheck to thousands upon thousands of welders, designers, fabricators, and technicians.

If we could somehow figure out how we won the hearts and minds of the Japanese people, we'd have ourselves a formula for success. They were easily as (or more) fanatical as modern radical Islamists. Yet, after the war, they became a big ally.
