Posted: Wed Jun 17, 2015 3:57 ami think they're more worried about the implication that iraq is not a united country by bypassing the iraqi government and arming minority groups within the country. turkey is basically a lost cause no matter what we do as long as erdogan is in power.

Also remember an independent Kurdishstan would be very reliant on Iran for trade with the outside world (encircled by hostile nations as they are) and probably grow closer with them....and we can't have that, for reasons.
