I was in a union, Teamsters. Getting a pension now. That's true, unions can be good or bad. Both sides need a voice. The secret is both voices need to be reasonable.

Pensions. That's one of the things I think needs to go away. Obviously, if you were promised one, you should receive it.

But, why should my employer have to pay me when I'm not working for them?

because we tried this and we got sick of old people dying in the streets.

it's not like at the turn of the century everyone though "wouldn't it be hilarious if we f**k over employers for no reason?"

What does a pension have to do with that? That's the reason that Medicare was established.

Then make retirement savings mandatory. Like they already are. SS pays $3500 per month, or $42k/year. That's $84k per year for a couple who likely isn't making house payments, doesn't pay much for healthcare, isn't supporting kids in the house. Not living high on the hog, but not destitute poverty, either.

the average SS payout is 1300 a month so i don't know where the hell you're getting that number from.

is there a demographic you don't want to financially f**k over for literally no other reason than ideological purity?

Like I said. Make the SS a livable wage.

Doesn't have anything to do with removing healthcare from being an employer responsibility.

Under performing stores get closed. Stores needing a remodel get closed.

Even the evil Walmart wouldn't close a profitable store. Employee strife or no.
