ISIS will have to be completely defeated, they have to be completely destroyed like Germany was after WW2. No half ass measures. That'll mean hundreds of thousands of troops, as usual mostly American, and they'll being there for years, maybe even decades after the war is over. Much of that comes down to how serious the other Arabs are on eradicating ISIS and the rest of the Islamic fanatics and terrorists the middle east.

Right now the US is war weary, and Obama isn't going to go gun ho in the middle east. He's a lame duck, and he's said too many times he wants to get us out of the middle east, he's in glide mode. I can see Jeb or Hillary going full tilt to destroy ISIS. Both are foreign policy hawks.

That 2003 war left a huge power vacuum in the me. And we're going to pay for that for years.
