Banks are there for a reason. Why travel with $30,000.00 cash on you to fix-up a house. I'd be nervous doing it. Especially if I were travelling through a state that didn't recognize my right to carry my weapon concealed on my person.

One case the driver had $2,400 because he was moving from Michigan to California, to start a new life, get a new job, etc.. He gets stopped, and the cop took the money saying he was going to California to buy drugs. lol... Like someone has to go to Ca. to buy drugs..

yeah. or someone drives through iowa (WHICH HAS f**k SPEED CAMERAS SENDING ME TICKETS. I THOUGHT I LIVED IN AMERICA (which is basically what I wrote back contesting it because i'm not paying that bullshit)) with poker winnings of 100K and has that seized.

reason magazine has been railing on this for years and there's a disgustingly high amount of examples of this. it takes people years to get their money back if they ever do

forfeiture fuels the drug war on the government's side, same as drugs fuel it on the dealer's side. it's why there's been a military escalation of police forces, it is a direct result of forfeiture. it's arguably the worst thing that we do in this country to our citizens

I don't think anyone really knows all the different laws for each state. For example, can a legal gun owner/with carry permit from the east coast, drive to the west coast without being arrested for having a gun?
