A friend of mine, whose house I never went to, had a python when I was a kid. The 1994 LA Earthquake hit and he escaped.
They never found him but luckily it seems he never ate anyone in the neighborhood (meaning small dogs). Maybe he went into the sewer and died.
The family spent the whole first day trying to find him shitting their pants he might do something to someone/something.

probably not since they lived like 15 miles away.
Funny enough, I wasn't afraid of snakes then. I have no idea when it happened, but i wasn't afraid as a kid. Even touched a python at school one day that I distinctly remember.
