Corporate America would fall immediately if they were forced to conduct their activities in a responsible manner.
What you really want is continued lack of responsibility and oversight so you can continue to profit at the expense of the rest of society.

There's a lot more to responsible behavior than merely not breaking the law. That's like how juvenile delinquents think. "Look judge, I don't have a job, I'm a welfare cheat and live in my pregnant teenage girlfriends parents garage but at least I haven't technically broken the law (that you know about). I'm being responsible.".
