What don't you like about Hillary Clinton Prof? She's a moderate Republican, so that strikes me as something you'd like.

Clinton is pretty much everything Prof says he wants. A moderate and above all a pragmatist. I think it's common in politics to see voters not like the very thing they're calling for when they actually are presented with it.

Yeah. And she's clearly stated her willingness to capitulate to the Republicans. The bigger the legislation, the more compromises she'll make. That seems to be basically what Prof is looking for.

My problem with her is that she's dishonest. She may say something that I like. In fact, she says many things that I like. More than Trump, in fact.

The problem is that she has said or done things in the past that directly contradict what she's saying now.

Case in point (actual quotes from her):

However, I have yet to really delve very deeply into anyone's positions on things. I don't (can't) vote in primaries, so I don't particularly pay attention to the whole process before the general election. Once the candidates stop spewing to their far-flung constituents, I will begin parsing their words.

Lastly, ontheissues.org is usually my go-to website for these things. There is ZERO spin or interpretation there. It's just a listing of quotes on certain issues (comprehensive list of issues). You read exactly what they said. And, you can then find out where they said it, and read the background of the quote. It's not the only place I look, but it's usually the first.

Dishonesty and inconsistency is part of being a moderate though. Their message changes according to their surroundings and what is feasible - that is the whole point. They have no real ideological convictions other than winning.

Yeah, honesty isn't really a desirable trait in a moderate or pragmatist, if they want to survive politically. Just imagine if Hillary Clinton told the truth about what she will be able to achieve: "During my Presidency, I will do literally nothing to address wealth inequality, I will not propose any legislation that is truly progressive, I will ignore most of the rules I find inconvenient, and, at best, I will build slightly upon the achievements of President Obama. All of this will come at a tremendous cost to national unity, as the majority of Americans don't like or trust me." Instead, when she talks to progressives, she sounds progressive. When she talks to Wall St., she sounds centrist (I'm assuming this because, as you know, she refuses to release her transcripts). When she talks to women, she is a firm, uncompromising feminist, but when she talks to Catholics, she'll bring up how she can't abide by late-term abortions. This is her power but also her weakness, a weakness that becomes hugely obvious when you put her beside outspoken people like Trump or Sanders.

The sad thing is that she is literally using that bit about Obama. But that's because her campaign is one of the worst in modern history. It really does make me laugh.
