With the exception of the firearms I use for work or hunting, I'd be content if the rest sat in the safe and collected dust.

cause it's all emotion on both sides. most guns aren't going to be killing anybody nor defending their owners. most gun laws aren't going to do jack and shit to decrease the number of people being killed.

Speaking of which, I have to clean up my gun room today... In laws are coming and my MIL is irrational about firearms. I only have my Ruger Blackhawk 44 special, Ruger 1911, Ruger GP100 (.357), Ruger Security Six (357), Ruger SP101 (.357), Ruger SP101 (.22), Browning BT-99 (12ga), Dehaan Over/Under (12ga), M1 Garand (30.06) and Ruger Gunsite scout rifle (.308) to put away (went shooting with my son a couple of days ago).

I see a lot of folks talking about legislating how guns are/should be stored, shit would be a train-wreck in terms of enforcement considering you'd have to get around the 4th amendment to enforce it AND the fact that the folks you want to practice it (the irresonsible meth using gun owners) are all going to ignore it anyways. like those dip f**k in texas who let their 3 year-old grandson shoot himself.

Do you have the factory muzzle break on that ruger scout?

I do. It's the only .308 I own so I can't report on it's effectiveness. But it's a comfortable gun to shoot.

You have no idea, lol. I don't even know how many guns I have off the top of my head, I lost count a while ago and I manage to buy a couple/year... it's gotta be around 40+/-.

It would be nigh impossible to enforce. My ammo is stored in the garage, my guns (unloaded) in the house either in the safe (need more safes) or in a room I can lock. No longer have little one's running around so I'm a bit more lax at restricting access. That will change if I ever have grandkids.

My buddy has one. It is a nice shooting rifle. Unbelievably loud. He bought a linear compensator, and I really can't tell the difference. But, I guess that's what you get when you got a .308 coming out of that size of barrel.

I always use ear protection, even when hunting now. I have no doubt I'm going to have to be fit with hearing aids in 15-20 years.
