it's not totally impractical. We'd have to increase the number of judges/DAs/PubDefs/andJuries by about 10 fold though.

The police make the decision. When there is reasonable evidence to support the contention that the law is broken, they should arrest the responsible party and try them. You know, sort of like how it is specifically designed to work?
They should not be allowed to simply not charge just because. That isn't democracy, it isn't legitimacy, it is basic corruption.

Just think, they could invent a car that knows where it is and the speed limit there. If you exceed that, your car turns you in.

Not at all. You are pointing out how discretion fails and then using it as proof that discretion is preferable. Honestly one of the most retarded arguments ever made.
