Damn. I kind of always assumed THAT was the unrealistic portrayal. I guess I underestimated the discipline.

human nature too. we like having support when we get in a fight.

one reason heavy horse were so damn awesome in battle is that it was so scary the flight instinct often trumped the fight instinct. even though flight dramatically increased your chances of dying.

Yeah, I had heard that most casualties occurred during retreats.

That's a mistake. The NFL thread has been highly entertaining the last few pages, even with mr bills stale commentary sprinkled throughout and the dudes analysis sounding like a statistics grad student who has never actually seen a football game. It's basically the best run that 100+ page thread has had.
