To show you how flawed FPTP is in Britain check out the percentage of votes the SDP/Liberal coalition (which went on to form the Lib Dems) received in the popular vote compared to the percentage they received in seats in the 1983 general election.

I'm all for this, but why stop at just presidential elections. House votes should also be proportional (state wide) rather than winner takes all (district by district), that way more than 2 ideologies could get represented in congress.

Then what happens when one person gets 50% of the popular vote for a state with 20 congressional seats? One person gets 10 seats?
