The Houthis have been claiming -- claiming -- that they are doing this for Gaza, attacking Israeli-aligned shipping. Of course they are doing no such thing. They are attacking any shipping nor associated with Iran, Russia, or China though. anyd why? I would say this conflict is not truly linked to Gaza, but to Ukraine. Russia and Iran want to bump the price of oil. China wants to bother the US so doesn't get involved and lets the Houthis have their fun. Russia and Iran can't actually afford to be directly involved but they get their chump rebel houthi proxies to do it for them, and they claim they are committing terrorism in support of gaza. which i guess makes sense, so does Hamas. But this is about upsetting shipping to allow Russian oil to be put to market. it's all about trying to break the western pourous blockade so the russian governemnt can support itself. and the iranian government for that matter.

I'm so glad you resurrected this place just in time for war with Iran. Everyone will bullshit but it's at BEST Cold War 2 with Russia/Iran/China/NK. Stop bitching around - bomb Iran and give the Ukrainians deep strike weapons to cut off Crimea.

entirely agree. i do think FR and UK need to be involved in any bombing though. i'd say the rest of the EU needs to too but those lazy pos never built any boats to help out

freedom of navigation needs to be maintained. if it isn't it could cause severe economic distress. we saw the headaches that happened when just-in-time shipping was f**k during the pandemic. let's not do that again because some desert tent dwellers get given toys by iran
