I can defend myself without guns. Mace, taser, sword, my huge rooster, your mom's ass cheeks in my palms. Fetishization of guns is just bizarre. Just admit you like them at a primal level cause they go boom.

To be fair fstar...this is the 21st century. That argument would have held a lot more weight in the 19th.
Right now, the only self-defense argument is to point out that self-defense is meaningless when the other guys is armed and you aren't. The right to "self-defense" is a cruel joke when the other guy laughs at your raised fists and determined expression and simply shoots you.
Maybe all you thug life toughs in South Dallas (LOL!) have a different experience, but I've personally never walked around strapped. Never felt even vaguely unsafe, at least in my corner of the world nor so insecure in my own ability to defend myself that I need to deal with the irritation of having a lump of steel on my person.
And fstar...there are A LOT of people in Canada with guns. Don't believe the stereotypes of neutered, peacenik Canadians. You should hang around in Nowhere, Saskatchewan for a couple moose seasons, see what's actually going on up there as regards guns and redneck yokels. Might shock you. I had no idea.

Concealed carry people are weird and very insecure in general. A gun is a great equalizer for such people. Mass hysteria from this bizarre idea that crime is rampant fuels their insecurities. Women in general feel less secure; I've never thought "oh I might get raped" doing x or y, but plenty of women feel this way. Legitimate or not, fear is what drives conceal carry.

The note found in the room wasn't a suicide note nor a manifesto. It was calculations for ranges and bullet drop from elevation so he knew where to aim for most effective shots
