Clever move.spend 80 years driving up gun sales through any means necessary, then, when gun violence continues to be out of control, argue there are too many guns to regulate who has them.

Just throwing this out there for gun control:
- Make all semi-auto firearms with a detachable magazine (both handgun/long gun) a class III weapon requiring registration and the owner to pass the background checks. Exempt .22 caliber and under rimfires.
- Don't make the process onerous nor expensive so as it not become an infringement and kill the '86 machine gun "ban" but continue to require ownership of said weapon only by a class III holder.
- Forget about making attachments such as the bumpfire, high capacity magazines illegal as they will now be covered by having the owner have a class III licence.
- All non-class III firearms must be transferred via a FFL holder who will do the instant background check.
- Make handgun possession contingent upon having a CCW type license (renewable) or a Class III license.
Don't think the first one is politically tenable but if lawmakers and the populace are serious about trying to get a handle on mass shootings that's the way to go, not some feel good measure getting rid of bumpstocks.

i don't think you should shove semi-automatics into the same class as automatics. full auto should meet stricter requirements. basically you're encouraging people to buy fully automatic weapons IMO by requiring getting the same permit for a machine gun and a handgun

Yeah, I'm trying to decide what he was trying to say with that image?
Because it's basically just demonstrating the US being more in the same ballpark on gun violence as Venezuela, a failed state.
