it appears according to that bascially people making between 100-180k a year should go roth, but everyone else should go 401k

Naw not really. Profitability right now is pretty good and companies are pretty liquid (depending on sector).
I'm just happy to see that we've moved past the border tax.
Tax Cuts can't give us what we need right now. We need jobs that pay well - not just "jobs." But for that to happen we need an educational system more tailored to that end and a long term investment in consumers. Give the tax cuts but make them contingent on contributions to local educational infrastructure to create the talent pool they need/desire?
It's more of a localized problem that can't be addressed at the federal level.
