but in this case w just do the well known formula for "is it creepy?"
creepyAgeCutOff = ageOfOlderPerson/2 + 7
if (creepyAgeCutOff > ageOfYoungerPerson)

so 24/2 + 7 = 12 + 7 = 19
19 > 17... yup. it's creepy
