This isn't a matter if whether the people think he is innocent or not, it's whether the supporters believe the media. They probably see it as a similar tactic to what happened to Donald Trump, that it's made up.

Somebody released an audio clip of him during the primary where he talked about sexually assaulting women and even bragged about it. Turns out it was fake.

Ehhh...not so sure about that anymore. CNN was at defcon 1 for weeks there and it got exhausting. And they post these shitty stories about Trump not being able to a handshake correctly and other trivial matters when there's plenty to focus on within the policy realm. Real investigative journalism comes more from the more...investigative outlets. Even Axios has been more productive than CNN - CNN just reports it.

I'm guessing they're beginning to see how much this is dividing the GOP and how that could affect the midterms in 2018.
