I distinctly remember getting in trouble in 5th grade because it was right after 9/11 and we all had to do presentations about how 9/11 made us feel and I brought in the recent issue of TIME magazine which had a huge map of Afghanistan and I said they are "f**k" and the teacher called my mom.

I don't know about you guys, but my household regularly featured political discussions, and my parents always encouraged us to have an opinion on the news. We would talk about the things we saw on TV or what we read in the paper. TBH this was such a normal occurrence that I never even considered it before today as something that others might not understand or be able to relate too. It really weirds me out that parents would not discuss politics with their kids... how else are you going to teach them about morality or justice or right/wrong without talking about the things that are going on in the world?

8th graders are aware of things going on but i wouldn't necessarily say they have really thought about them beyond what they are told. if they listen to msnbc they think one way, if they listen to foxnews they think another way, but neither of these are very critical thinking.

Paul Ryan, as speaker of the house, is one should still meet if just to offer condolences. the man didn't want the job, the man was dragged into the position, and immediately his own party was talking shit about him. if kids think he is "with trump" and as you all claim watch the news they are likely retarded, since Ryan gave a tepid endorsement and hasn't pushed any Trump-type legislation through. that he isn't screeching like a shitlib about trump doesn't mean he supports the man. he's just doing his f**k job. meanwhile he's got shitlibs to the left of him, reptiles to the right, and here he is, in an unenviable position that i wouldn't wish on anyone. if he tries to compromise, the reptiles flip out. if he doesn't, the shit libs flip out. even if a compromise does happen and everyone is unhappy (the sign of a good compromise) they continue to throw it at the speaker.

boehner was a good man as well, and similarly had to deal with tons of shit. it's hassert who should be met with disdain by everyone forever

Don't kid yourselves and trying to high and mighty, this kid and others were fed information, they didn't just read some current events or see something on the news and decide to protest Paul Ryan.

And yes you dumbshits, everyone deals with current events in schools. It's a basic part of education, particularly in history, civics or government courses. Derp.
