Can you call into Hannity or Fox News? Be a caller on the show? If I wanted to hurt fox and Trump I might motivate thousands of people to call into the show under false pretenses to bring this up. You know...to get it out there.

WSJ has it on the front page now but it’s...strategically worded. :))

I don’t live in the USA anymore. The “U” is gone.

Starting to think Erick Erickson is right to be worried about eventual civil war.

The last part of the sentence could easily be assigned to the whole of the prior by an unsuspecting reader. The family member could be read as confirming either Trump's assertion of a fabrication or the Dems assertion that it wasn't. Moreoever, it doesn't bother to identify the person from the family as the mother. Which it clearly was. Blatantly.

President Donald Trump denied he made insensitive remarks in a phone call to the widow of a U.S. soldier and accused a Democratic congresswoman of making up the claim, which was supported by a member of the solider's family.

Code: Select all
(ROOT
  (Simple clause S

(NP (Adjective JJ insensitive) (Noun, plual NNS remarks))
(Prepositional Phrase PP (Preposition IN in)
(NP (Determiner DT a) (Noun, singular NN phone) (NN call)))
              (PP (To TO to)
                (NP
                  (NP (DT the) (NN widow))
                  (PP (IN of)
(NP (DT a) (NNP U.S.) (NN soldier))))))
            (Coordinating conjunction CC and)
            (VP (VBD accused)
              (NP
(NP (DT a) (JJ Democratic) (NN congresswoman))
                (PP (IN of)
                  (S
(VP (Verb, present participle VBG making)
(Particle Category PRT (Particle RP up))
                      (NP
                        (NP (DT the) (NN claim))
                        (, ,)
                        (SBAR
(Wh-noun Phrase WHNP (Wh-determiner WDT which))
                          (S
                            (VP (VBD was)
(VP ( Verb, past participle VBN supported)
                                (PP (IN by)
                                  (NP
                                    (NP (DT a) (NN member))
                                    (PP (IN of)
                                      (NP
(NP (DT the) (NN solider) (Possessive POS 's))
                                        (NN family)))))))))))))))))))
    (. .)))

The important thing here is "Clause introduced by a subordinating conjunction SBAR". that clause is a Wh-Phrase, "which" and applies to the thing that preceeded it which was "the claim"

when I read it i read it plainly as the claim was supported by the family. i didn't even consider it the way you read it

That’s fine but I think others won’t think about it like you do. Either way I think it easily could’ve been worded differently.
