NAB, I think you underestimate the degree to which people are just fed up with the establishment. I have...acquaintances that openly support Trump on Facebook and whom try to rationalize it in public purview. Trump may be a douchebag but people know what they're getting with him because of it. The others? They'll say whatever they think they have to in order to get elected. They'll lie through their teeth to get into office and most already have. Trump doesn't hide his flaws as one of them is his total lack of awareness of his own character - that makes his attractive to some whom see the the rest of the cadre as bullshit artists.

Consider: Trump has insulted McCain, talked about Megan Kelly's period, and casually assigned all Mexicans as rapists and murderers. The base of the GOP, the hard right, is absolutely fed up with candidates that talk but don't walk. The most recent polls following the debate still have Trump commanding an enormous lead...and Jeb has fallen by the wayside (Perhaps intentionally while this shitfest continues).

He could be out soon but...I just don't see it yet.

I swear to God you Trump fans are the most gullible voter base out there since the Ron Paul cult. He offers NOTHING of his own, rambles about how everyone but him is an idiot, and then makes some vulgar comment that gives you guys a hardon because you're obsessively fixated on political correctness. And that's been enough to make a fan out of you and countless others.

Trump still has a seven point lead ahead of the next two candidates. Poll is kinda mehhhh though, only 651 likely Republican voters were called.

All of what you say is true. On a more shallow level, I was gawking at what seems like Clinton's total blindness to these sentiments among the public. She's playing the inevitable heir apparent, and has "learned her lesson from last time" referring to Clinton's hesitance to make her 08 candidacy about the historical nature of a female president. Well, that's one thing fixed. Now why is it that the campaign seems to just shrug off Clinton's unfavorables and the crosstabs that show she is in major trouble?

Clinton's intelligence is not in question. Her experience is untouchable. Everything about her suggests she has an excellent skillset to be a chief executive. And though she's not up there with her husband in the charmer department (who is?) she has a palatable personality. Certainly nothing off-putting or abrasive about the way she carries herself.

But she's gonna lose because people don't think she's trustworthy. No undecided voter will eliminate Clinton as a choice because of State Department e-mails or any that Benghazi shit. But as she faces issues like these, her trustworthy numbers plummet as part of a larger narrative about the Clintons: The Clintons are dishonest. The Clintons are swindlers. THE CLINTONS WILL SAY AND DO ANYTHING TO WIN.

And so far her campaign seems to have nothing for this other than "Republicans suck....oh, and, first female president remember?!"
