You could always respect Reagan but hate his policies. At the time I supported his policies but as I realized they were not working out he said they would I soured on him. The Bush´s are a bunch of war profiteers from Prescot Bush to George W. Bush and have used their family wealth to manipulate the system for their own financial gain and George W Bush should be in a Prison for War Crimes. The only thing we can be thankful for that Bush did was that he did such a lousy job that it will be a long time before another Bush is elected to anything.

Republicans talk about a balance budget but have not produced one in modern times the last balanced budget was under Bill Clinton. Newt Gingrich helped but that was a different time.

The reason the republicans are going this route is because it works.


The 800 pound gorilla in the room is that Obama.. well he's black lol. He can't play to the angry yelling screaming black man stereotype. he has to be passive. He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, and the GOP knows it, so they take shots. They call him weak, they spit in his face, because they can, and he has to turn the other cheek.. because what's the alternative? Getting angry, getting mad at people? "See, this is what happens when you vote a black man for president"


He's doing the best he can given the circumstances. We're still realistically, another half centry at least away from having a black president that can actually get stuff done

Obama is a wash. He is much better than the Republicans that he ran against (esp Romney), he de-escalated Iraq and Afghanistan, but he didn't tackle any of the big structural changes needed. The economic recovery is a house of cards, the U.S. is still in epic amounts of debt, college still costs 30k a year, healthcare isn't universal, ect..

History will look back on Obama with high regard. The man has accomplished much despite his obstacles.

His foreign policy has been perfection and the utilization of his resources/options in the face of domestic political realities re economic performance masterful.

History books will look back on Congress during this period with the utmost contempt. If we should fail or fall in the coming decades, it will surely be due to political intransigence of a self serving nature. Inept is a word reserved for people who understand its meaning.
