I am still waiting to hear why we need to pass laws to protect us from a threat that never existed.

Well I just called their number and they said that they typically ask for ID - the only times they may not ask for ID is if the person getting the checks cashed is a customer or if the checks being cashed are issued from the bank itself. I asked her if they would cash some personal and payroll checks for me without and ID and she said no.
*edit - Don't know if it matters or not but she seemed really nervous about the conversation heh.
