You know what's so weird and I'll make this an open question: remember the S&L scandal in the 80s? There were literally thousands indictments in that one, and some high-profile figures were scandalized (e.g., The Keating Five).
That, financially, was a drop in the bucket compared to what happened in 2008. And not one CEO has even been indicted.

WS is even more powerful now.. Everyone's 401k's, retirement plans, etc. are tied to the market..Much more at stake nowadays..
