The best course of action is to troll. If someone can't make a competent argument, they'll likely think you're agreeing with them while your more intelligent friends will catch on. It's kinda pathetic, but a lot of my friends tell me that they're always amused and enlightened by my statuses even though I'm basically saying the exact same thing others are posting.

So for example, instead of saying, 'A win for cannabis legalization in Colorado is a win for all those who value personal freedom,' say 'Time to invest in potato chip companies
or 'Think of the children!'

I have a lot of country friends who are rabidly conservative and not shy about it. One likes to pos about Muslims a lot. I bite my tongue since it is (as saz pointed out) impolite to discuss such things. It's difficult tho.

This is my outlet so I can avoid unnecessary impolite outbursts IRL.

From my limited experience on other internet discussion sites, especially political ones, I'd be confident saying that if you can hang here, you can win a debate anywhere else.
