Well. That happened.

Can't summon any strong feelings either way. Uniforms are shit. Klingons are shit. Ship design is shit. Clearly Abrams inspired in all the worst ways.

Looks like they may have actually thrown some money at this doomed series that they intend to hide behind a pay wall after the first episode...so they can then whine when the entire planet pirates the hell out of it.

Spider, the Abrams star trek sold more than Berman star trek. "The customer is always right"

I'm not claiming it will be good. I'm claiming it will be successful if it's like new Star trek /Star wars. f**k, I didn't even like rogue one. I know I'm in minority. The people want trash in their eyes

You're probably right. In fact, that I'm not into it is probably a sign of the marketing guys doing their job correctly. They aren't doing this for the established fan base...they're doing it for the new, demographically more-desirable-to- =)) advertisers, fans of the JJ verse movies.

I just don't understand the business case. By hiding it behind the CBS All Access wall, they are dooming it. They have to know this.

Thing with Rogue One is that it's a fan film. By the fans, of the fans, for the fans. But this bizarre reboot that also somehow exists in the prime timeline is very much not for the fans. The fans are already picking it apart and condemning it.

CBS is betting it all on non-Trek fan movie goers being open to watching Trek on TV when they clearly weren't willing to before...and asking them to pay monthly to watch commercials.

Doomed.

Could have been interesting if it weren't just an "oh no its my ex wife!" thing.

That looks atrocious. Sad it's going to kill Star Trek as a television series for an even longer time.

I gotta see the first episode at least. Hopefully it won't fall into the same trap that "Enterprise" did.

The only thing JJ Abrams relevant in that trailer is the lens flare. This looks more like a bad BSG/Expanse.
We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will yet swell the chorus when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.
