Only half the tickets are sold for games, 12% for the Paralympic games. Article talks about the prospect of Brazil having to give the tickets to school children to fill stadiums. Cool for the kids, that their govt finally does something for them, but just the latest embarrassment for Brazil

Yeah but most of that is related to the Zika virus, not just poopy water.

high crime isn't novel in brazil. yeah they've had some new things happen but they had a lot of problems to begin with and were awarded the games anyway

The Olympics is such a joke. There are only a very limited number of countries who can handle a project of that magnitude. Why are we dumping it on people who can't afford it and don't want it. Ugh.
