No one. They are f**k who inherited tickets from their grandparents but aren't football fans, but why would you give them up when you could sell all your tickets for a handsome profit? I wish there was some way to weed people out who are only renewing their season tickets to resell them, but that seems a little complicated.

Tons of teams are able to do this. In Europe most of the clubs scan sites like stubhub, "purchase" the tickets for sale, and then remove whoever is selling them from the season ticket list. They do it to protect the atmosphere of the stadium, they want actual fans who are local and know the history of the club to be in attendance so they can sing the chants and such. Otherwise, half the stadium would be full of chinese tourists.

Well, in Goodell's NFL, the True Fans are never welcome.

I may have to mute the game next week. Tim Tebow runs in a TD from the redzone and announcers starting talking about his "journey" since getting drafted, like he's wrapping up a HOF career. I guess that's preseason for you.

So weird to see him back in Philly not wearing an Eagles uniform. Even though it was just preseason, I think they should have done some kind of tribute over the loudspeakers for him.

i was watching the vikes game and the announcers... holy shit. in the second quarter, one guy says "wouldn't it be great if we can go all 5 preseason games without a touchdown scored on us? it'll be hard but i think we can do this"

3 minutes later the Bucs score

i'm just laughing at this idiot... frankly, the vikes looked really bad, even though they won

so if you're going out of town for a weekend and can't make one game out of the season you're somehow not an actual fan?

So the general consensus on Mariota and Winston is that neither of them was extremely impressive but not god-awful either.

Also don't get why analysts emphasize that neither of them threw INTs all offseason but got one in their first preseason game. Of course they're gonna throw picks in their first few games.

No, the clubs have their own ticket resale mechanisms. Usually to even buy any tickets at all, you have to register with the club and become some sort of member. It's like 5 bucks a year or something. This allows you to get on the season waiting list and buy individual match tickets when they become available. If you can't make a match and want to resell your ticket, you put it for sale through the club, and the club will then resell the ticket on to whichever member has been waiting a while to get a ticket. You won't make a profit on the ticket resale, but you will get back the face value of the ticket. This makes much more sense, because it eliminates the profit from the secondary market and ensures that the ticket goes to someone who is more likely to be an actual fan than a casual tourist.

Tourists can still get into matches, but the tickets are super marked up by the club and they are limited in number to ensure that most of the stadium is full of actual fans and not wealthy saudis or dickhead russians. American football is not a global game and so there is little concern that foreigners will come and bid up the prices of NFL games. Soccer, particularly the english league, is a massive global brand. If they just left the tickets to the secondary market then the prices would explode to the point where actual fans would be priced completely out.

I'm going to the Bucs-Titans season opener. Should be awesome and when it's actually a game that matter, Famous Jaemis will show what he can do.
