Because I have to say, I've said some pretty outrageous shit online for quite a while now and no one harasses me like that. I don't think the government really gives a shit what people say online unless it's some kind of criminal activity or something. Then it can get real fast. Other than that I think you are pretty safe with free speech, with certain exceptions.

Another thing is if you did something illegal they would just come over and arrest you. If someone is trolling you like that it's because they are whacked, not some kind of NSA spy bullshit. They don't have time for that shit.

Normally you use your last 4 digits of your ss# to identify your account. By suggestion of a customer service person there, I have different numbers doing that.
I also had an additional security number added on top of that. I've done this four different times with two different accounts and that info is always deleted.

The only guy I've had a sour relationship with IRL is my ex hus. I haven't seen him in two years and there is no way he has the ability to do this. There would also have to be a benefit for him and there is none.

I'm not worried about the NSA or government watching me. It's someone who works in government specifically the military and for the Republican party. It wasn't just coincidentally being on the same site with someone high up on the homeland security food chain. I talked to this person for about 4 years. Things ended, in short, after I decided not to discuss anything political with this guy again (ironically in part to stay friends) As far as I can figure anyway! Who the hell knows really. Its not like our conversations were ever extremely civilized.
He was supposed to be a moderator probably some kind of English humor. He reacted to to that decisions by deleting my posts or putting them into moderation and altered for reasons he would make up. He'd delete any comment I made that tried to start a conversation on another thread. At one point he said I was trying to impersonate people that worked at the site. Mysteriously other names would show up to troll me and agree with him in whatever he was saying on a thread. We hadn't got new people on this site in a couple of years. I also figured out that he had access to my email because he responded to one on the forum that wasn't addressed to him.

No admin from that site responded to my SOS emails and he told me in so many words he was going to keep it up until I came back to the discussion with him. I knew I couldn't go back there again. I thought that would be it.

I mention this in part due to Obama and others saying there is no record of abuse with this ability to hound someone. How do you speak up if your emails are intercepted? Or posts deleted - everywhere?

I think this guy might either be an admin or owner of that site.

It sounds like he has used info you related to him during the course of your friendship to infiltrate your email and possibly your computer. He may be the owner or admin of that site and had access to information about your computer, IP address etc which is also useful in that capacity.

I'd make sure there were no viri or malware on my machine, probably by re-installing the OS. I'd change all passwords to secure passwords, and I would have my ISP change my IP address.

Thanks for the advice and listening but I know who owned and started the site and its not him. It's also left wing based in London. I know who he is because he sent me email from his AF email address. He also wasn't shy about his profile on Disqus which matched his Facebook page. I am still hoping that name is a cover or at least that he sent someone else emails from that address because various things he said throughout the Obama years makes it obvious to me now what he did (outside of working for the Republican party) but most of all I'm hoping the kind of attention I've received is over with because I can't do much about it. I've had three computers die since this started. I'm not sure how many I've had since I originally registered in 2005, same with emails and passwords. I have also moved a few times and the problem follows

I've talked to this guy on skype and the phone. (once each) a few years ago. The personal information he had of me is first and last name by email and I told him where I lived (after he asked)
After what Snowden revealed I think he might have originally been able to watch my email because I had emailed and skyped a Palestinian woman who lived in Dubai who was also a outspoken supporter of Hamas that posted on that site for awhile. We didn't agree about those things and didn't talk about them by email but I was definitely on her list of contacts.

Recently I got a much larger sum of money than I'm used to having from someone who was bequeathed (early) a lot of money from friend. Not too long ago my browser had the location of that person as my location. I don't do anything financial online.


As for anyone who would need to lighten this portion of the thread, the "relevant" links I offered were specifically for that. Have French recipes read to you. I thought that was funny. Love that CD from the Flaming Lips. for me it's workout music.

Hmm, sounds like he may be some sort of intelligence analyst or something after all.

Skyping HAMAS supporters in the Middle East has got to send up some red flags. Especially if you are receiving large sums of money. That just doesn't look good, even if the reason is perfectly legitimate.

Could be they are trying to see what you do in response. Or maybe just letting you know they are watching.

I talked to her in 09, I believe. It might have been the year before that. I think she arrived in 06. I received the money a few weeks ago and not from the Middle East, from someone in this country. The problems with bills and the internet started in 2011.
At one point I was trying to arrange having her talk to this Israeli who posted at the same site.

He's definitely wanted me to know that he's watching what I do online since I left that site but I am not doing anything that law enforcement of any kind would be interested in, I don't post anything anti-American or illegal and have no reason to be tagged like this so why would he (or they) want me to know that? What would he be watching for? That's when it can look threatening and why I want it to stop. There is no valid legal reason in the real world for me to be treated like a potential criminal.

I did call out the NSA on a comment I mentioned on Propublica asking for them to watch who is pestering me, if that's possible. Who else can do anything about it?

I think this kind of behavior is empowered by secrets so I am making it public. I have no idea what he is up to so if anything happens to me or anyone I care about its out there. Lots of people know his name I just haven't said it to anyone official.
