NFL 2017-2018

A place to relax and talk about things besides politics.

So the Eagles won yesterday, and LaGarrette Blount looked pretty beastly. After a nice performance from him and Wendell Smallwood last week, I was very happy to see him follow it up with an even better day yesterday. With Sproles out for the year, we really needed the other RBs on the roster to step up and they've done just that.

Wentz had another day where he didn't turn the ball over, but also didn't do anything to write home about. Wentz started his rookie year making jaws drop with some of the most astonishing rookie QB performances you've ever seen for an NFL debut. He ended it amid serious concern about the regression of his throwing motion throughout the course of the season, the monsoon of interceptions he began throwing midway through the schedule, and his ability to adjust to a pro system that saw him dropping back to pass at a record-setting clip. And for all the offseason talk about the two Carson Wentz' we saw in 2016, neither one has shown up yet in 2017. Instead, we have a guy who appears calmer and smarter on big passing plays, and who is also comfortable using his size and speed to get first downs with his legs. But also a guy who hasn't had much of any luck connecting with his receivers on deep passes, and his stats look like that of a typical game manager. Odd to see this from the guy whose play-style so many compared to Brett Favre in the past.

Defense was OK. You could see they were missing Fletcher Cox, but Beau Allen made some nice play's in Fletch's place. Our CB talent right now is undeveloped, or more likely just lacking, but this group plays hard and makes plays that Eagles fans are not used to seeing from our CBs. And overall, what I'd say of all three wins so far this year is that the Eagles are winning the kind of games they would have lost last year. Games that were tight in the 4th quarter always slipped away from us in 2017. But this year when we send our defense out to get one more stop or ask our rookie kicker to nail a 61 yard FG, we've been getting the outcome we needed.

Well that was a terrible week

If we're getting a new QB I'd way rather have Romo than f**k kapernick. f**k
