north korea- new development

Seoul (CNN) -- With Kim Jong Un out of sight for a month, a troika from the pinnacle of North Korea's leadership popped down to South Korea for a last-minute jaunt on Saturday.
And they delivered a diplomatic bonbon.

The three officials told South Korea that Pyongyang is willing to hold a second round of high-level meetings between late October and early November, South Korea's Unification Ministry said in a statement Saturday.

The first round of talks were held in February.
"Within my memory ... there was never ever such a high-level visit. Never," said North Korean analyst Andrei Kankov, from Seoul's Kookmin University.

Kankov said the three leaders "are essentially number two and number three in North Korean official hierarchy."

Right behind Kim, the "Dear Leader" himself.

China doesn't want a united Korea, and I really don't think South Korea wants it either.. North Korea is a complete basket case.

So they can talk, but that will be about it.. Just talk.

don't confuse their support for liking the north. they don't necessarily like a unified korea but they REALLY don't want the north to collapse and have to deal with millions and millions of refugees flooding in to manchuria,

The Chinese would deal with their 'illegal immigration' problem much differently than we do..

short of erecting a fence i don't see what china would do. they aren't big on whole-sale slaughter with sprinklings of genocide.

Fences... Heavily guarded border... Mass immigration sweeps to get the ones that might make it into China, then send them back.. No immigration trials, no lawyers, no lobbying by businesses to keep them in China.

But yeah if it all went to hell in NK it would be even worse then it is now, which is awful, and I doubt South Korea OR China would want to deal with that.

i'm pretty sure they would set something up to exploit the cheap labor, like we do with mexican immigrants.

why spend money killing them when you can make a lot of money off of them

you guys aren't getting that if north korea collapses it's not like the mexican border immigration. there would be a wave of millions of starving, confused koreans marching towards manchuria. that's a refugee crisis, not immigration.
