Man, you can market and wheel and deal till the cows come home but if you aren't producing a product you don't have shit to sell. What will you do then?
People can make stuff and sell it themselves. They don't need marketing and corporate executives to do it either. That should tell you what the important component of the equation is and which component is optional.

You can have the finest sales and marketing team in the world and if you don't have anything to sell what will you do then? There is a reason that rent seeking is destructive. It gives resources to non-producers.
