3/4 of Americans favor raising smoking age to 21

So, studies say that youth cigarette use drops during the last years. Logically, raising the minimum age to buy tobacco products could further reduce youth smoking rates. What do you think? Do you support the policy of such restrictions on tobacco sales? Would the nation be less addictive to toxic smoke?

People smoke when they want, random numbers mean pretty much nothing. Kinda like kids and alcohol.

Nah man, I quit smoking a month ago and I'll never go back. However I have to admit this thread triggered me.

I don't think it'll do much to lower the youth smoking rate. Probably just make it worse...teenagers are contrary as hell. Probably half the reason they smoke is because they've been told not to their whole lives.

I had an ex marine sergeant, heavy drinker/smoker, turned college professor who quit while I was there. Told us he got unbelievable cravings every time he caught a whiff of cigarette smoke. The guy was an unbelievable heard ass, but damn he got results. One did not show up to his class unprepared. :))
