Congratulations, you've figured out that the medical field is heavily corporatized. Would you like a medal, a gold star, or a lobotomy?

The issue is you making outlandish claims based upon either the words of one guy, or vague implications of corruption and corporate influence. So some professors made $150k a year because of drug companies. Great, how many of those companies produce ADHD medication? How much of that dollar amount was spent for endorsements of ADHD medication? How involved in research are these men, as it relates specifically to the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD?

All you are doing is making an ignorant, childish ideological arguments, and backing it up not with actual research, but vague conspiracy theories concerning the state of medical research.

Pro-tip: other than one dude, you've got literally no evidence that ADHD is a manufactured disease. Whereas I can produce thousands of research papers by tens of thousands of researchers, that say it is a real thing.

We recently went through this a little bit. My son is 5, and has a twin sister. She does fine in school, whereas he has a problem sitting still and concentrating on a single task. We spoke with his teacher and the school psych. My kids are just 1 month shy of the cutoff for starting school, which means that they are (potentially) 11 months younger than the oldest kid in their class. In fact, my son is 10.5 months younger than the oldest boy in class. Chronologically, he is much closer in maturity to 40% of the kids in the grade below him, than he is to half the kids in his own class.

My daughter, on the other hand, has no problems.

Here's what we all decided. Basically, boys mature slower than girls, so he's already a little behind his sister and the other girls. Then, he's also much younger than most of the boys in his class. At this young of an age, where 11 months = 20% of the life he's lived, that 11 month difference is HUGE. In other words, IT'S ONLY TO BE EXPECTED THAT HE'S LESS MATURE!

Basically, and the teacher and school agreed with us (thank God), we said he'd be fine and passed him to 1st grade.
