when i was at houston space center this woman from austria i was talking to said that kennedy had cooler stuff, and a lot of the same, including the most amazing thing i've ever seen in person: the saturn V. still, houston has mission control which was awesome.

why do you say that it looks more like star wars? is it ship design? i agree that star trek ship designs are too futuristic looking and too sleek

the ships, the hangers, the launch systems, even the crawler....all very uber-tech, not very sleek. reminded me a oil refineries/derricks.

Just think, all that stuff got its start in Nazi Germany. Even NASA's rocket man Von Braun came from there under operation paper clip.

Circuitous route. Robert Goddard invented and was launching liquid fueled rockets back in the 20's.

At some point we have to stop tainting modern rocketry with Nazism. It didn't start there and it definitely didn't end there.

Goddard never reached the success of von braun though. Both American and Russian programs got their start from that. But you are right, it didn't end there.

Well of course he didn't. He was Von Braun's predecessor...the inventor of the technology. And he didn't have a massive budget behind him to develop weapons. The US government was unimpressed with rocketry back then. It wasn't until WW2 that it became practical.

The point is that it gets old always having this 70 year old 3rd Reich smell on a technology that currently resembles what the Nazi's were playing with in the same way a steam locomotive resembles a maglev train.

No landing at sea today. 12 to 15 foot swells, apparently broke a landing leg.

Are they over-reaching with this landing on a floating platform trick?

Yes. The sea is way too unreliable for that unless they intend to make an absolutely massive floating platform
