Apple and their "promises" to employees

Apple and their "promises" to employees

Only watched about half so far but if you buy into the whole Apple spiel about how they care about their employees (overseas), then you need to contact me about this bridge I have for sale.

Difficult to take this seriously when the author is using Apple products to convey the message.
We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will yet swell the chorus when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.

Pretty sure he says early on that he bought into the hype too. If anything, it should further validate that they aren't trying to do a "gotcha" piece on Apple. The guy has (and probably likes) Apple products. If this had come from someone that hated Apple and was obviously just trying to bash, I'd probably have flat out dismissed it.

Meh, let's focus on megacorporations who flagrantly don't care, and save the ones that care sometimes for last.

As a corporate middle-management stooge, I can tell you that I don't take anything seriously that isn't in power point and shown from a PC. I've seen our executive staff metaphorically shut off their brains upon presentation of anything in an alternate medium. You can almost see the lights shutting off in their eyes.

That is all of them. All megacorporations do not care. You may find a CEO who pitches caring as a financial strategy, but someone, somewhere is going to be looking at the bottom-line always over ethical concerns. It is required by law to do so.

This is a fundamental thing about capitalism that we must all understand. Corporations are not and cannot be inherently moral. They can be ethical when forced into it by law (in the past, by charter). The consumers must make moral/ethical decisions financially viable for corporations (or immoral decisions financially destructive).

You can use one of those free addons for your browse (like Hola Unblocker) to watch one of these links:

http://www.cbc.ca/passionateeye/episode ... n-promises (Canada)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... n-promises (UK)

odd that the video has been up since March 7th and got pulled today. I still have it cached so I can watch it heh.
