Windows 9! er... 10...?

If you are still waiting in line to upgrade to 10, you can skip to the front with the media creation tool:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Gives you a prompt for the upgrade immediately, and shows as fully installed and activated afterwards. At least it has for me on three consecutive installs.

I'm in line. No notification yet. I'll wait.

Yep. Pretty big difference in polish between this and the last preview build. The few good things about 8 are present...but with nearly all of the bad removed. It really does feel like a 7/8 fusion...but in the correct proportions. Also...Edge! Not bad at all.

Anyone find a good way to create custom live tiles? Out of folders, maybe?

You're brave as hell to run a Windows OS on release.

It's on my home computer, mostly to get familiar with it while I wait out bugs before upgrading my work machines. I'm going to go ahead and put it on my surface soon too.

Thank you for this.

Got Win10 on my Surface Pro 2, been streaming my Xbox to it all day and fixing other things. I'm not a power user by any means, few bugs here and there but overall been swell.

Took me a minute to look up how to remove that massive bar at the bottom for cortana, but it was super easy so I felt like an idiot. Overall, seems ok.

I've encountered a couple of minor bugs...such as having to close and reopen the start menu when I'm doing a lot of shuffling around of tiles. Also had a couple of tweak outs from running multiple monitors, but it recovered quickly once it figured out what I was trying to do. How is that streaming, btw, phos? Getting artifacting? lag? I hear they're working on streaming the other direction, from PC to xbox, which is what I'd be more interested in.

They ran those names through a panel consisting of various consumer archetypes, and then held enough panels in enough places to get a somewhat accurate picture of what people across their key demographic preferred.

Also, if they called it Windows 9, it would sound like "Windows Nein."
