Some big MMOs coming out soon. Wildstar, Elder Scrolls Online, Everquest Next.

I'm skeptical of EQN being out soon because I know SOE but we'll hope. They were only a few months behind on Landmark. Only hearing good things about Landmark at the moment. EQN is the only game of these that remotely interests me because of how the emergent AI is supposed to work and multiclassing system.

ESO has been hailed as a WoW killer. Big surprise. I've heard mixed reviews. Most of the bad ones are basically saying its your standard, typical MMO and you'll be absolutely bored of it in 2 months or less. Others are saying its exactly what people wanted: Skyrim online. Time will tell.

I know nothing of Wildstar.

i hope that they don't stop making single player games for elder scrolls, that's my biggest complaint with MMOs on existing franchises

blizzard has stopped all new development on their warcraft franchise other than WoW. which was cool, and addictive, but i want something that doesn't require so many hours, something that i dont have to schedule time with other people to play the game, something that doesn't suck hundreds and hundreds of dollars from you

betcha played on a console? playing that's fine, but there's alot more immersive things on computer. not only are graphics not even comparable between the two because console is so bad, but mods make it so you like, can't fast travel, have to camp, have to use fur for actually making fur clothing to keep warm in the snow, no compass to tell you where to go, etc etc. pretty fun (although vanilla game is fun too, bethesda makes fun, if buggy, games)

The PC mods for Skyrim can get pretty crazy. There was a post on reddit a few days ago that had some pictures where the NPCs looked insanely real. Games like that on PC are the whole reason for PC gaming. You can keep downloading addons and change the entire dynamic of the game.

Diablo 3 is getting a major overhaul pretty soon. So far, the people that have tried the new xpac in testing really enjoy that the world is open now and not chapter based like it was before. I'm not going to go near it for a while and see how it turns out. If its something worth getting, I'll get it. But I'm certainly not banking on that. And while I haven't kept up with everything, I'm not quite sure how they are going to handle trading with the Auction House going bye-bye. I have a fear that its going to be mostly web-based and not via bnet/blizzard. Like d2jsp web-based. But, if the game is more like D2 in terms of loot and such, I won't be trading with anyone anyways.

People keep talking about Star Citizen too but I think its still well over a year away so not much to get excited about just yet.
