well i would still have a graphics card and wouldn't use the graphics capability... im looking to build one so i guess the question is if even the haswell is needed or just go top of line of ivy bridge

Well when everything is cloud based there won't be any need for a hard drive or anything on access devices. Or course it's more difficult to steal a desktop that is secured to a desk than it is to take a mini tablet so there is that too.
But then again it will take a while to get people to trust cloud based storage and applications. A lot of people out there want total control of their data and would never put it on the net. I used to think like that, but nowadays it doesn't really concern me and I used many web-based application in my work.
I just use a little cheapie lap top attached to a 32" Samsung TV and a wireless printer and my smart phone and that is my entire set up. I don't even need an office or an assistant any more.
