lol i'd be so mad

i mean

they havent even sold any yet. later, sure, cash out with huge payout in a few years but come the f**k on, you didn't do a kickstarter to make money, you did a kickstarter to make a product. i'd be so pissed.

just goes to show: don't ever contribute to a kickstarter.

however, i don't think they are doing this for zynga. i think they are doing this for social connectivity, e.g, getting together with people virtually

Ya...the kickstarter people are getting boned, no question. Though...that seems to be the case with kickstarter about half the time.

You can buy the dev kits though. The one out right now is supposed to be very close to the consumer model technically. I've been holding off...but damn. Might pick one up just to avoid whatever Zuck and his goons are going to do to it. Probably wind up being massively dumbed down, sporting a FB logo and looking like something out of JJ Abrams Trek reboot. Doubt it'll even be out this year.

Its $350. Might just pull the trigger and hope the whole thing doesn't get Zuckerberged.

$600

I would have gone all irrational early adopter for as much as $450. Was planning on putting together a new rig and everything. Guess I'll wait. There's just no way to spend $600 on a headset without feeling ripped off.

Yeah, they always get shafted. Australians even worse on some things.
