Was only joking really. I don't have any skin in this game. America's relationship with guns is interesting, a curious anomaly from the rest of the west, but doesn't affect me at all. I live in a country with very strict gun control and it simply is not an issue and no-one ever talks about it. The only people who have guns are farming types, very few police and some criminals. The criminals use their guns on the general populace extremely rarely, instead using them to kill each other which everyone is fine with.

The concern that the very small amount of muslims in Ireland might start killing people is not enough of a worry to arm the populace. The sorry example of America's gun culture is a far more cautionary tale of the danger of guns than isolated incidents of Islamic terrorism.
