Re: To Big To Fail banks should not be downsized

Well here we are at the new digs and I see Saz you've christened the place with what can only be described, upon examination, as a comedy thread. So you read one article in the Economist and that's all it took, huh? :-w All you guys complaining about to big to fail, realize there is no moral or logi...

Re: To Big To Fail banks should not be downsized

2008 was a failure on the part of governments, not financial institutions. It was a failure of BOTH, and initiated by the financial institutions. You can't give financial institutions a guaranteed backing and then be surprised when they act in a very risky manner that theoretically is going to make...

Re: To Big To Fail banks should not be downsized

The fundamental problem is that the banks own the agencies/regulators that are supposed to watch over them, and had their cronies in congress repeal laws that had served us well since the 30s. That means nobody is watching over them, which was more than apparent if you watched 60 MInutes last night ...

Re: If the US ruled the world

The US government as it currently stands is unfit to rule the US, much less anything else. If our methods of social safety nets, welfare, healthcare, etc were applied on a global scale, the world economy would burn to the ground pretty much overnight. You beat me to it. We can not even rule our own...

Re: Americans Willing To Raise Taxes To Save Social Scurity

Oh God not the Ponzi scheme meme again. You people are like a broken record.

And tell us again, PoS, so we get rid of SS and replace it with... what again?

So if we only get rid of democracy and replace it with... what again?

Re: Americans Willing To Raise Taxes To Save Social Scurity

The ratio of old people to people in work is starting on a trend that's going to send it badly out of whack for a decade at least. No one in the west is going to be able to keep their pension systems as is, Britain, Italy, France.. the USA. Wrong. This problem is easily fixed. People like PoS manuf...

Re: The Withering of the Affluent Society

Perhaps the real problem is the have-nots forgot that if you can't feed'em, don't breed'em... But the "haves" tell us that the children must be born (this is being "pro-life") because God says so and that birth control should not be available. It's only after they're born that t...

But the "haves" tell us that the children must be born (this is being "pro-life") because God says so and that birth control should not be available. It's only after they're born that the haves want nothing to do with these children, because now these kids and their parents are ...

Re: "Savior" of the GOP Already Lying or Clueless

You're saying that gov't officials knew of the fraud from the outset and allowed it to happen anyway?

Please, get right on that.
